Amazon Launch Program To Fuel Developers of Color, Affordable Housing in Puget Sound
We are proud to announce that LISC Puget Sound has teamed up with Amazon to support the next generation of developers of color in Seattle and expand affordable housing in the communities they serve.
The Housing Equity Accelerator will provide mentorship and a capacity-building curriculum for developers of color, as well as pre-development grant funding for upfront project costs for deals the developers are actively working on. By supporting the growth of people of color in Puget Sound, the program aims to increase the supply of affordable housing and create new opportunities to generate wealth and equity.
The Housing Equity Accelerator is open to for-profit developers of color with a demonstrated commitment to affordable and workforce housing. The selected developers or “Fellows” will have access to a broad network of established real estate professionals and critical early-stage financing. Beginning in early 2022, the Fellows will participate in training sessions on a range of topics, from project feasibility to joint venture partnerships, and have one-on-one sessions with mentors to tackle specific project barriers.
