Providing Restaurants Relief

Last month, DoorDash, in partnership with Hello Alice, announced a $1,000,000 Restaurant Disaster Relief Fund to provide relief grants to local restaurants across the U.S. affected by state or federally declared natural disasters . Applications for the winter funding round will remain open until January 31, 2022. Applications for the spring funding round will be accepted starting on April 1, 2022 through June 30, 2022.

Providing Opportunity Through Training, Grants, and a Free Curriculum

This spring, DoorDash launched our Main Street Strong Accelerator in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia and Atlanta that provided $20,000 grants to 100 local restaurants across those five cities, all of which participated in an 8-week curriculum designed to increase access to resources and grow their businesses. The Main Street Strong Accelerator curriculum is now open to all independent business owners at any time and at no cost. Access the curriculum here in Spanish and English.

DoorDash Launches New Partnership for Dasher Safety

Last month, DoorDash announced the launch of SafeDash: a new in-app toolkit powered by ADT to help Dashers (DoorDash delivery drivers) feel safe and give them greater peace of mind. This new in-app Dasher safety toolkit launched with two new features, including a safety reassurance call and an in-app emergency assistance button while we continue to develop and build more resources that speak to the Dasher experience:

  • Safety Reassurance Call: In the event that a Dasher feels unsafe in a situation,  they can quickly and easily connect with an ADT agent through the Dasher app.  ADT will call the Dasher and remain on the phone until they feel safe.
  • Emergency Assistance Button: If a Dasher is ever in need of emergency  services, they can easily swipe a button within the Dasher app for assistance.  ADT will then contact 911 on the Dasher’s behalf, discreetly remaining in contact  with the Dasher by text message.
