2016 –    Founder and President of the Seattle Latino Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce.

  • Envisioned to serve its membership with special focus on Latin business owners. In its first year, the Latino Chamber accomplished to enroll blue-chip corporations such as: Amazon, Comcast, DoorDash, Coca-Cola Co, Google, US Bank, Delta–Aeromexico, Facebook and Boeing.
  • The Latino Chamber has attained partnerships with the most important economic organizations in Seattle, including a reciprocal agreement with the Seattle Chamber of Commerce and partnerships with: GSBA, SBA, Google Partners, Washington Retail Association and other key organizations.
  • With a business community network of more than 1,600 businesses and executives, the chamber activities have been recognized with two proclamations from the City of Seattle in 2017 and 2018 presented by Mayor’s Murray and Durkan.

2005 – 2016 Consultant & Yoga Master.

  • Developed the first Spanish translation plus content for Safeco and Liberty Mutual’s company websites.
  • Volunteer as Communications Director for the US-Mexico Chamber of Commerce Northwest Chapter. Successfully developed public relations, outreach and communications programs significantly growing membership and awareness of the organization in the region.
  • Provided social media strategy for Los Angeles Mayor, Eric Garcetti to gain Latin support, helping him attain a smashing mayoral victory in 2013.
  • Imparted more than 3,000 hours of multi-level Vinyasa Krama Yoga classes at recognized venues in Los Angeles, California and Washington State.

 

2002-2005 Editor-in-Chief of the President of Mexico’s News Wire Service, Office of the President of Mexico.

  • Developed and managed the first online newswire service for Mexico’s President, Vicente Fox. Obtained 98% registration of the world’s top news organizations including: CNN, AP, UPI, CBS, ABC, New York Times, Washington Post, BBC and China News Agency.

Jason Ortega Kalami

“Jason Ortega Kalami is currently a Branch Manager in the Downtown Seattle area for U.S. Bank. Jason focuses on developing long-term and tailored business banking solutions for his customers, with his extensive knowledge in commercial and business lending to help business owners reach their desired financial goals. He has joined the SLMCC to help bridge the gap and strengthen minority owned businesses, providing his helpful expertise allowing him to be a strategic business partner. Jason’s background includes a Bachelor’s Degree from Washington State University, as well as 7+ years in the financial industry.

Jason is involved not only helping small and large businesses, but also an advocate for the Latino Community. He is currently a Community Liaison for U.S. Banks Nosotros Latinos Business Resource Group, where he helps build and strengthen relationships within the Latino Community partnering with non-profits and cultural events”.


Mary Paz Ortiz

Outreach and partnership coordinator

With more than 14 years of experience in the public and the private sector, Mary Paz Ortiz is the Community Outreach and Research Coordinator at the Seattle Latino Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce (SLMCC) and is responsible for connecting people by creating agreements and cultivating relationships with businesses, individuals, and other relevant organizations, that increase the SLMCC visibility within the surrounding community.

She is experienced in the development and strengthening of inter-institutional relationships as well as the overseeing of international cooperation projects; qualified in management and coordination of high-level meetings; skilled in the design of climate change and sustainable development public policies at the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources in Mexico.

Percival Stirling

Digital Marketing Coordinator

Percival Stirling moved to Seattle in 1995. He worked at CBIC in downtown Seattle from April 1995 to March 2002. Since then he has been a self employed business man owning a web services firm now for over 20 years. He is also into health and fitness, putting a diagnosis of Diabetes into remission in less than 4 months in 2013. He has created several foundations to educate people in various fields.

Ricardo Acosta Suárez

Bachelor of Business Administration, at UNAM, Mexico. Master’s Degree in public administration and Economics; Ph.D in Public Administration, University of Southern California. Did a postdoctoral Fellowship at Cornell University, School of Agricultural Economics. He has a Diploma in Policy Science, Technology and Innovation at Harvard University, United States. Received a grant from the Ford
Foundation to conduct his doctoral dissertation.

He has over 35 years of professional and teaching experience at the graduate level. He has been professor at ITAM, ITESM, COLPOS, Autonomous University of Chapingo and visiting professor at the University of Technology in the Netherlands and the International Institute of Social Studies in the Netherlands and at the National University of Liberia and Cuttington University in Liberia, West Africa. He has been a columnist at the some of the most important newspapers in Mexico, including “el Financiero”, “ Uno mas Uno”, and “Milenio”.

Internationally, he was Assistant Director General at the International Centre for Public Enterprises (1982-1988) based in Ljubljana, Yugoslavia. In the federal public sector, was Federal Representative at The Ministry of Trade and Industrial Development, and the of Ministry of Economy (2000-2004) and later Director of the Mexico State Council for Science and Technology, in the state of Mexico. In the last 5 years has been senior adviser to the Government of Liberia for the World Bank and United Nations, and consultant for the International Development Agency of Germany, GIZ and the International Development Agency United States, USAID. In 2013, he founded his own consulting firm, International Development Consulting (IDC).

For 15 generations he has been Director and Professor of the Diploma Program in Business Process Reengineering a postgraduate program for Business offered by the University of Americas, AC

Ricardo Acosta has a long career as a senior executive in high levels of decision making at the national and international levels. He also has a broad experience as consultant to international organizations as well as national levels in Government, corporate business and academia at the graduate level .
